April 21, 2004: WWIDWJ?, Part 2
   
"'What shall I do, then, with Jesus, who is called Christ?' Pilate asked." Matthew 27:22 (NIV)
   
    Last week, I asked you to ask yourself the question Pilate asks: What will I do with Jesus? There are three possible answers: I will believe in Him. I will think about it. I do not believe in Him. I have prayed since my last email that those of you in the lot kicking the tires of being a Christ-follower will step over and accept, believe, and appropriate Jesus' death on the cross to your life. If you answered "maybe I will accept Christ," will you keep hanging around a place that believes in the power of Christ and teaches the entire counsel of the Bible? For those of you already convinced, let's dig a little deeper.
   
"Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil." Hebrews 5:13-14 (NIV)

  
    What will I do with Jesus? What are you doing with Jesus in your life today? There is a huge difference between stating "I believe in Jesus. I believe he was born of the Virgin Mary, walked among men, died on a cross, rose again from the dead and then ascended into Heaven" versus applying the belief. Applying this belief to our lives is a whole different matter. Let's move beyond simply believing and start applying. Let's move beyond sitting on the sideline, watching the game of life, and get in the game with the full power of Christ in us, for the world to see. Let's move from entry level Christ-followers to powerful and courageous followers!

    Can those around you see your faith in action? Or do they see someone that talks about church on Sunday like a social event, but then lives like the “world” Monday-Saturday? Can you honestly tell yourself that you are more like Christ today than you were this time last year, last month, last week? What are you doing with Jesus in the everyday struggles of life? Is your language more godly? Your love of people deeper? Your exemplification of Christ stronger and more powerful?

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." John 10:10 (NIV) 

    Jesus came not only to give life, but to give abundant life. Are we striving, training ourselves and stretching ourselves to become more like Christ, so that we may have an abundant life?
