Verses about Humility
Humility....That's a tough one to live by sometimes. I myself sometimes struggle with it. But God's word is pretty clear about it.
2 Sam 22:28 (NIV) You save the humble, but your eyes are on the haughty to bring them low.
2 Chr 7:14 (NIV) if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Isa 58:5 (NIV) Is this the kind of fast I have chosen, only a day for a man to humble himself? Is it only for bowing one's head like a reed and for lying on sackcloth and ashes? Is that what you call a fast, a day acceptable to the LORD?
James 4:6 (NIV) But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."
1 Pet 5:6 (NIV) Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.
